Best PS5 multiplayer games for groups
Updated 8 October 2026
The best reason to play at a gaming café is that everyone is in the same room. These PS5 games are built for that: they work on a single console with several controllers, so nobody needs their own copy or account. Player counts below are the game's own limits; a café's setup or the mode you choose can allow fewer, so check the café page for what it has.
Head-to-head
- EA Sports FC (the series formerly known as FIFA): football with local versus and room for more than two players in some modes. The easiest game to start a rivalry with.
- Tekken 8: one-on-one fighting game that suits quick rounds and rematches.
- Mortal Kombat 1: another one-on-one fighter with local versus.
Party games for up to four
- Rocket League: football with cars, with split-screen for up to four players on one console.
- Overcooked! All You Can Eat: a chaotic cooking game for up to four people, as much about shouting as about skill.
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure: a platformer with local co-op for up to four.
Co-op for two
- It Takes Two: a co-op adventure that needs two players the whole way through.
- A Way Out: a two-player story about a prison break, played on a shared screen.
Racing
- Gran Turismo 7: a serious driving game with a two-player split-screen mode. If a café has a racing simulator, that is a different, more realistic experience again.
Picking for your group
- Count the players first. Two friends can play almost anything; four need a game built for four.
- Mix skill levels with co-op or party games. Versus games reward whoever has practised.
- Check the café has it. Lineups differ. Open a café on Nitro Console to see its games, or see all games at gaming cafés.
